History at The Westwood Academy is about understanding the past through key events that helped shape our country and the world. Through history students gain an appreciation of continuity and change and an understanding of causation. In addition to this The Westwood Academy have developed a literacy programme that runs discreetly through the history lessons but which ensures all pupil’s develops their literacy skills whilst learning about history.
