Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Year 9 Options Evening

I am writing to invite you and your child to attend our Year 9 Options Evening on Thursday 5^th February, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

As students progress towards Years 10 and 11, they reach an important stage in their education where elements of choice are introduced into the curriculum. While we offer a broad and balanced range of subjects, it is essential that students give careful consideration to the options they select.

All students will study the core subjects of Mathematics, English (Language and Literature), and Science (Combined or Separate), taught to GCSE level. The statutory requirements for Religious Education and Physical Education will be met through timetabled lessons, whilst PSHE and Citizenship will continue to be delivered through mentor sessions and assemblies.

In addition to these compulsory subjects, students will be able to choose three further subjects to study to examination level.

The evening will include a short presentation in the Drama Theatre at 5:30pm, which will be repeated at 6:15pm. During this presentation, I will outline the options process. This will be followed by an opportunity to speak directly with subject teachers and gather detailed information about the courses available.

This event provides a valuable opportunity for you to support your child in making informed decisions about their future studies. I look forward to welcoming you on Thursday 5^th February and to answering any questions you may have.
