Consultation on Enhanced Resourced Provision (ERP) at The Westwood Academy

The Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust Board would like to consult with all stakeholders regarding proposed building works to commence in September 2026, up to the end of 2027, to build a new block containing two floors for additional classrooms and an enhanced resource provision on the site of The Westwood Academy. This block will be built at the front of the school and will not affect any of the classrooms or social spaces.

When the new block is built, the school will benefit from a new reception area at the same time to make the school more accessible to parents who may need to drop off their children and for staff and visitors to have easier access. There will also be additional car parking spaces available upon completion of the new block with the ERP. When complete, this will enhance our existing provision for all students, bringing the following benefits:

For the school and community:

• Enhanced specialist expertise and staffing within the school
• Opportunities to further develop inclusive teaching practices across all classrooms
• Strengthened partnerships with external agencies and services

For the local area:

• Increased specialist capacity within the local system
• Reduced reliance on distant placements
• Improved outcomes for children with SEND

We have been working with Coventry Local Authority to design the ERP and additional classroom spaces, in partnership with the school and the trustees of the Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust.
