The 13 Brilliant Club Scholars from Year 10 attended their graduation day this term at Christ Church College, Oxford University. They attended sessions looking at how to use the transferable skills they have developed over the Scholars' Programme, how to write STAR paragraphs using their experiences for applications, the process of university applications, student funding, and questioning a panel of current Oxford University undergraduates about their experiences. As part of the graduation ceremony, two Westwood Academy students, Martha and Willow, spoke eloquently about their experiences of the programme and their desire to use their newly developed transferable skills in the future. There was of course a tour of Christ Church, which included library and the famous Tom Quad, and more importantly eating lunch in the Great Hall, which was the inspiration for the dining hall at Hogwarts!
The students were exemplary, representing themselves and the Westwood Academy with aplomb.
