**Information for Parents** January Phased return to School

Posted on: 17/12/2020

Dear Parents & Carers

I am sure you will all be aware that the Government announced yesterday that there will be a phased return to school for students in January.  This will mean that only the students in Years 11 and 13 will return to school on Tuesday 5th January, with the remining year groups returning on Monday 11th January.

Children of Key workers and vulnerable children are eligible to come into school from 5th January.  If you would like your child to be included in this group please email the school and we will contact you on January 4th to discuss the arrangements.

Some of our Year 12 students have BTEC exams during the first week in January and these exams will go ahead as planned.  Mr Patemen will email all sixth form parents separately with details of when students need to be in school.

We will be providing a full programme of remote learning for Years 7 - 10 and 12.  All details will be on Satchel One and the students should check daily for their instructions for that day.  There will be a mixture of live lessons and some published tasks.  APPLs will be in touch with families requiring support with remote learning.

All pupils have been issued with a log in for TEAMs, in order to access live lessons. This log in uses their normal school user name, followed by So a child in year seven, called Joe Bloggs, who started in 2020, would be: Their passwords will be their normal school password. If there are any issues with logging in to either Satchel or TEAMs, please email

Sincerest thanks for your continued support.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us here at The Westwood Academy.
