Getting your child a place at Westwood 2011 and 2012
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

On Monday 20 June 2011 we held our very successful Carnival / Summer Fete for existing parents and prospective parents. More than 20 parents and their children toured the school with the Head teacher during the day.

Missed the Carnival? Missed the tours? No problem – please telephone Mrs Westwell, the Head’s PA, who will book you on a tour with the Head teacher to view the school during a normal school day.

We also have a more traditional Open Evening on Monday 19 September 2011 from 5.30pm – 7.30pm.

Despite falling numbers in our primary schools our numbers continue to rise. We will have places available in 2012 for pupils both in and out of our catchment area.

Introducing Vertical Tutoring at the Westwood School

As part of our drive to build on the success of the March 2010 Ofsted report, we have decided to modify our current pastoral system and introduce a new ‘Vertical Tutoring’ system in September 2011. There are many questions that parents and students may have about the changes. We have tried to provide as much information as possible to help parents and students understand the reasons behind the changes and the benefits we think it will bring for the students. We have organised a ‘Vertical Tutoring Information Evening’ for parents at the school on Monday 16th May (6.00 – 7.00) and wish to invite all parents, current and new, to meet with staff to discuss any questions or concerns they may have.
